Some moving company is coming out to the apartment tomorrow to give us an estimate on moving our NJ apartment to NY. Handsome left messages with at least 15 moving companies for estimates. They tend to call at 7am on Saturdays. This is all after he has convinced himself we are moving ourselves. He “just wants to see what the prices are” for a moving company to move us instead.
All 15 of them. Who call back at 7am on Saturdays. One after the other.
It’s been fun.
So tonight Handsome has measured everything and drawn it precisely into the enlarged and to scale floorplan our new building gave us. (He took measurements of everything, including the door to confirm the floorplan was to scale.)
I’m OCD, but I’m not sure I’m thatOCD. Our new bedroom is bigger, both length-wise and width-wise than our current bedroom. Sure, it’s only by a few inches. But, considering it’s bigger and the window is in no different place and the closet isn’t any different, I’m pretty sure everything we currently have in our bedroom is going to fit into our new biggerbedroom. Ditto on the living room. Which is why I’m not all OCD about this.
If the room were smaller or oddly shaped, then yea, I would measure. But the new place is both BIGGER and the SAME shape as our current bedroom and living room. We’ve already decided that everything in the dining room and second bedroom is being sold or put into storage…which means only our bedroom and living room (our smaller bedroom and living room) is going. And they currently fit!!!
Anyways, our to scale floor plan ratio is 1 to 0.0217. I know this because I have been the one sitting at the computer all night calculating inches by 0.0217 so that he can draw in the exactmeasurement into the floorplan. I’m sure you are very happy to know this. I’m surely not and I hope I forget it soon.
Aargh.

On a happier note — we went to the pool today for a couple hours and it was tons of fun. Definitely something I’m going to miss once we move back into the city. Not that I go into the pool all that much, but it’s nice to have that sort of space to chill out and catch some rays and cool off when the sun is beating down on you. Now I’m already starting to miss our pool. Man, this happy note didn’t turn out to be so happy…
